See what drivers in your ZIP actually pay.
Enter your ZIP code for the local average, then compare real quotes from licensed carriers. No policy number, no SSN, no phone call to get started.
- No Social Security number
- Licensed carriers only
- Comparing never affects your credit
Full coverage here runs . Your own premium depends on your driving record, vehicle, age and coverage limits, so the only way to know your number is to run a quote.
How we calculate this. Figures are modelled from publicly reported 2026 state-level average premiums, adjusted for metro areas where rates are documented to run higher. They are illustrative averages, not quotes, offers, or predictions of your premium. Only a licensed insurer can quote you a rate.
From ZIP code to a real quote
No account to create, no waiting for a callback before you see anything useful.
Check the local average
Type your ZIP. You immediately see what full coverage and state-minimum coverage typically cost where you live, and how that compares nationally.
Tell us about your car
Vehicle, driving history, current coverage. About a dozen fields, two minutes. We never ask for your Social Security number or bank details.
Compare and pick
We match you with licensed carriers and agents serving your ZIP. They quote you directly. You choose one, or none — there's no obligation either way.

What you're actually buying
Four parts do most of the work on a US auto policy. Knowing which is which is how you stop overpaying for one and underbuying another.
Liability
Pays for the other person's injuries and property when you're at fault. Required in almost every state. State minimums are often far below the cost of a real accident.
Collision
Repairs your own car after a crash, whoever caused it. Usually required while you're financing or leasing.
Comprehensive
Everything that isn't a collision: theft, hail, flood, fire, a deer, a cracked windshield.
Uninsured motorist
Covers you when the at-fault driver has no insurance or not enough. In some states roughly one driver in five is uninsured.
Most drivers who compare find a cheaper policy.
It costs nothing to check yours.
Two minutes of questions, quotes from licensed carriers serving your ZIP, and no obligation to switch.
Compare my ratesBefore you start
Is AutoShld an insurance company?
No. AutoShld is a free comparison and referral service operated by Orange Marmalade Inc. We are not an insurer, agency, or broker. We don't underwrite policies, set prices, or make coverage decisions. We connect you with licensed carriers and agents who do.
Are the ZIP code rates a quote?
No. They're averages modelled from publicly reported state-level premium data, adjusted for metro areas. They tell you what's normal where you live so you can judge whether your current bill is high. Your actual premium comes from a licensed insurer after they review your driving record, vehicle and coverage choices.
What does this cost me?
Nothing. We're paid by the insurance partners we refer drivers to, which is why the service is free to you and why we're upfront that we have a commercial relationship with those partners.
Will you sell my phone number?
We share the information you submit with the insurance carriers, agencies, and marketing partners described in our Privacy Policy so they can quote and contact you. Under the CCPA this may be treated as a sale or sharing of personal information. If you'd rather it wasn't, use the opt-out form and we'll honour it.
Will comparing hurt my credit score?
No. Insurers use a soft inquiry to pull a credit-based insurance score where state law allows it. Soft inquiries are not visible to lenders and don't affect your score. California, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Michigan and Maryland restrict or prohibit credit in auto rating entirely.
Do I have to buy anything?
No. You can collect quotes, compare them against your current policy, and walk away. Plenty of people do exactly that and stay put — now with a number to prove they're not overpaying.
